SYNOPSIS:
Jameson Walker approaches Joe Hunter when his daughter Jay and her friend Nicole go missing at a gas station in the Arizona desert while on a cross-country trek across the North American interior. He mentions that a robbery/homicide at the gas station as worrying as the girls were due to be in the vicinity at that time. Joe accepts the job of locating the girls, though not at first convinced there's much to worry about. As Joe picks up the girls' trail he discovers that other young women have also disappeared in the area, and comes across the brutish Logan family.

I’ve been a fan of Joe Hunter since my contact at Hodder let me in on this series. They promised action, they promised a guarantee and of course they also promised a character that you could not only associate with but one that “you’d love to have a pint with in your local.” Since starting with Matt way back with book four, its been a series that has not only gone from strength to strength but one that is increasing building the success of the series as the dangers get bigger, the action more epic and of course Joe himself is becoming more cinematic with every appearance.
Add to this top notch action, an author who knows how to direct the reader as well as adding great pace, solid dialogue and backs it all up with some careful twists and overall its still a series that I can’t wait to get my hands on.

Our second adventure with Matt Hilton and just as different to keep the reader not just interested but glued. What really struck me, and the major thing that I love about this author, is the darkness of the principle characters which when teamed with the dark world in which he walks really makes you stand up and pay attention.
This title is beautifully written with cracking prose and pace makes this title one that could be one of our thriller choices or the year. If you’re going to try a new author in this genre this year, you really do have to try Hilton, with this, the fifth title out there, you know that you’re going to get a lot of reading time and pleasure and with a publisher guarantee that you’ll like this as much as Lee Child then it’s definitely a title that’s worth a punt.

OK, you love Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series, but it feels like such a long wait between books, so what are you going to do?
Well, worry no longer, we’ve just discovered Matt Hilton’s Joe Hunter series. Whilst we’ve dived in on Book 4, we didn’t start with the first title, we didn’t feel alienated, the character, which whilst darker than Reacher felt real and an anti- hero that many readers will really be able to get behind.
Add to this, an author who plays for keeps with a villain with matching skills and the game of cat and mouse that unravels within which when backed with great pace and delicious dialogue leaves the reader in no doubt that this series will be a thriller to enjoy by the seat of your pants.
