To triumph in the games is to live the life of a king, but to lose is to die! Pendragon realises the only way to save this troubled territory is to beat Veego and LaBerge at their own games and dismantle their nightmare fun house. But there is a lot at stake for Bobby Pendragon, more than he could ever have imagined...Let the games begin!

REVIEW:

The latest offering in the series by DJ McHale sees the story shift to a futuristic planet where life and death hang on a game. Well written as usual by DJ although I can’t help but feel that a lot of the same ground is being retread as we go through the series. As you’ve come to expect Saint Dane has had his hands in a few pies and messed with the world and Bobby Pendragon has to put right what has gone wrong and defeat the evil traveller so that the balance is restored. Whilst you can read this tale without having read the previous offerings it probably would be remiss of me if I didn’t say that you’d miss a lot of the adventure, however with Bobby’s friends back on Earth acting more as info dumpers and stomping over previous adventures it will perhaps seem that you don’t have to. Don’t get me wrong, it is a fun series and will generate plenty of quiet time in your home just be prepared though when asking for what the book was about for some themes to be repeated. That said however, the younger reader probably won’t notice too much as their mind will be occupied by other questions for which we await the answers.
