FANTASY REVIEW: Traitor Spy Trilogy 3: The Traitor Queen - Trudi Canavan

Release Date: 02/08/12

SYNOPSIS:

Events are building to a climax in Sachaka as Lorkin returns from his exile with the Traitor rebels. The Traitor Queen has given Lorkin the huge task of brokering an alliance between his people and the Traitors. Lorkin has also had to become a feared black magician in order to harness the power of an entirely new kind of gemstone magic. This knowledge could transform the Guild of Magicians - or make Lorkin an outcast forever. The Traitor Queen is the triumphant conclusion to the Traitor Spy Trilogy, which began with The Ambassador's Mission and continued with The Rogue.

REVIEW:

If you’ve read the other two books in the Traitor Spy trilogy, then the odds are you’ve been hotly waiting this title to see how Trudi ties it up. As usual, the plot is fast paced, the characters solid and with a few twists thrown in, it’s a book that was hard to put down as we waited to see how fate would play out its final hand to each of the cast members involved.

Add to this great prose, an author who continues to improve with each offering and for me this is Trudi’s best series to date. Great stuff.
