FILM TIE IN: Pacific Rim: Man, Machines and Monsters - Guillermo Del Toro, David S Cohen

Release Date: 18/06/13
Publisher:  Titan

SYNOPSIS:

When legions of giant, monstrous "Kaiju" started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources. To combat the Kaiju, a new weapon was devised: massive robot "Jaegers", piloted by soldiers of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps. This lavish book chronicles the production of the film with concept art, photography, and cast and crew commentary.

REVIEW:

Whilst I’ve heard a lot about this film I was interested in not only the concept but also how they were going to bring these monstrous constructs to life alongside figuring out battle sequences for them as Man fights Aliens in this all or nothing struggle. Its wonderfully presented has some great artwork, some top notch commentary and also brings to the fore the artistic impressions of all involved in such a way that the reader feels that they’ve been part of the whole project from start to finish. A great book all round and one that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
