URBAN FANTASY REVIEW: Empire State - Adam Christopher

Release Date: 05/01/12

SYNOPSIS:

It was the last great science hero fight, but the energy blast ripped a hole in reality, and birthed the Empire State - a young, twisted parallel prohibition-era New York. When the rift starts to close, both worlds are threatened, and both must fight for the right to exist.

REVIEW:

If you’re looking for something that blends multiple genres with interesting quirks and characters that really grab you then this new release from Adam Christopher could be the very thing for you. You have Noir, you have a Doc Savage type of vibe and overall the piece is something that really fired my imagination as I read.

I loved the way that the predictability side of things were squiffy as it always gave the author scope to throw a curved ball at you. It’s huge and whilst confusing until you start to grasp the various elements and characters, was a title that really paid off in the end. Definitely something I enjoyed and I’ll be back for more from this author.
