REVIEW:
Conrad’s writing, for me, can be a little hit and miss and after not enjoying his previous Solaris release I was a little apprehensive about starting this one. I really shouldn’t have been as this title had so much going for it. The principle character was likeable, the outline intriguing and above all else the pace was ideal for this title. Add to this a great author voice which when backed with what I can only surmise as Basic Instinct meets Wicker Man and you know that it’s a title that will entertain the reader. A real joy from Conrad and one that leaves me wondering what he’ll hit back with next.

REVIEW:
To be honest not the best book out there at the moment if you want a zombie title. The characters are forgettable, the likeability for the protagonist is missing and if I’m going to be blunt here, it’s a title with little or no redeeming features. Add to the mix a convoluted and confusing plot alongside a sluggish zombie like pace and it’s a title that you really might be better missing. Of the Solaris titles, if you want an Urban Fantasy novel definitely purchase the titles by Justin Gustainis which are leagues ahead of this or try one of Abaddon’s Tomes of the Dead and you’ll end up better off. A shame as the back promised so much more than this hard to read title delivered.
