The Forces of Chaos are at the forefront of this short story by Anthony Reynolds as he takes the darker path giving the reader the opportunity to see how those Acolytes of the Ruinous Powers see to not only raise their own standing but demonstrate that no man will stand in their way.
Back this up with solid prose, some great combat that demonstrates how brutal the war is between the Warriors of Man and those of Chaos and all round it’s a short story that will give you that dark chilling edge as you sit there travelling to your destination.

REVIEW:
Whilst some audio books don’t quite work on the level that they’re intended this visceral story by Anthony Reynolds comes over with its deep sense of menacing weighing wonderfully against a mind gone mad. It’s definitely a title that I enjoyed with the vocal talent really bringing it over to the listener with a cracking set of pace, some wonderful sound effects which when blended with a tale of paranoia alongside a mind lost within itself that really keeps you going from start to finish.
Back all that up with writing that’s wonderfully suited to audio, a tale of bloodshed alongside insanity that leaves you wondering what is real and imagined from one of the characters points of view with a climax that really will keep you glued to every word and all in its one of my favourite 40K Audio books. Great stuff.

The compendium of the Word Bearer series by Anthony Reynolds who takes the reader to the dark side as we follow the exploits of First Acolyte Marduk within the three tales Dark Aposttle, Dark Disciple and Dark Creed. It has a top notch plot line, cracking prose and above all else a character that’s unpredictable as he schemes, fights and double deals his way to his goals.
It’s a cracking read, has lots of wonderful moments and of course, as a compendium its sheer value for money almost worthy of the rank of Word Bearer itself. Top notch entertainment.

REVIEW:
Whilst many novels out there fight for the side of good, Anthony’s current series seeks out the darker aspects and demonstrates why the bad guys have more fun. Not only do you have them fighting the good (or in this case bad) fight, but you get to understand their moralistic point of view which whilst differing from the rest of mankind proves that they have their own creed and code. A cracking offering from this author of the macabre with top notch combat and a sense of personal paranoia alongside the driven goal of personal gain make this a different type of novel for the 40k Fan but one that many will come to love.
