REVIEW:
Nalini has a huge following for her Guild Hunters series and when she returns to characters that readers have come to love throughout the books and seems to be giving them exactly what they want, it should have been a title that would not only have made them very happy but something that should have been a firm fan favourite for years to come.
However, whilst she did deliver a story, the book never really took off and left me feeling, as a long term reader, that I was cheated and that certain events were forced almost as if the characters just didn;t want to play. OK, so the overall arc is OK, but when you're not giving whats expected until a very late stage and even then its almost an heavy handed after thought then all round it leaves it feeling very jarring. Sadly for me, its not going into my favourite list of the author and for many others, its going to be more of a meh when asked about it. A great shame.

I originally read Nalini's work thanks to a friend on a forum (yep, there you go Jade, a mention) who told me I absolutley must read her work. As after all if I liked Kelley Armstrong, then Nalini would soon make a grab for my affections with her work in Urban Fantasy.
What unfurled was a whole set of novels that took me on journey after journey where romance leads the way and at the end of the day, we all know that love is the most powerful force in the universe. (Or if not it should be.)
OK yeah, that made me sound a bit mushy, but I love to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster, I want to see characters break from their comfort zones, to learn what makes them tick and to get under the covers to get to thier emotional aspect.
Here within this title we're treated to a tough kick ass heroine who seeks to recover and get back for vengeance but as she is in rehab we get to see her softer side. One that accompanied by a skin walker works wonderfully well as we get to see all sorts of changes along the way. I'm not going to say its for everyone, but if you want escapism wrapped up with romance and a good solid dose of whupass then give Nalini a go.
The only thing left is to filk a certain teddy bear show: "I wanna be a Were-Bear, like you...." LOL

With some author’s feeling that what you need is sex after sex scene, as a reader I want something that allows the passion to develop organically and feel right for the characters. What Nalini Singh’s writing does is allow all that but works by carefully building the characters so that they have multifaceted emotions and that everything that happens feels that it takes not only time but also a lot of work on their parts.
In this, the 17th Instalment of the Psy-Changeling series the author builds complex emotional context alongside a wonderfully woven and inventive story. It has some wonderful touches with great pace, solid prose and of course dialogue that is not only addictive to read but really draws you in as a reader. Finally add to the mix a bit of a cliff-hanger and the readers really will be demanding the next instalment to find out how events unfold.

REVIEW:
Whilst I’m a bit of a stranger to this series, I was given a catch up by friends who are fans so I was pretty well placed to pick up and see where the tale took the reader. What unfurls is a story that is primarily emotional as we get to delve more into the aspects of the principle series players as they take romances to a new level as well as developing new attachments.
It’s cleverly written the cast intriguing and for me, whilst the overall story was mainly about them, you can see that there are some developments that will be key in future outings as well as laying the foundations for future sub plots. All in a nicely written story although I wouldn’t say that you can really pick this up and start here unless you are lucky enough to have aficionado’s to help bring you up to speed. From a strangers point of view this tale wasn’t just filler but one that developed the characters to a greater depth rounding off some of the combat edges to give you a more personal view and as such means, that when time as well as budget allows, I will read the rest.

REVIEW:
Angel’s and Vampires rule the earth in this offering from Nalini Singh who made her name in the Paranormal Romance genre with her original Psy Changeling series. OK its book one and whilst the Vamps are actually the underlings in this offering it really does open the readers eyes to the potential within as Nalini blends the two biggest things in current Urban Fiction together.
If you love paranormal romance, want a fast moving plot with some pretty bloody murders then this is the way to go. I suspect that Nalini will create a good many fans with this first outing for her new characters and with a romantic lead that’s so scary he’s tempting well, she definitely know’s how to push the readers buttons.
