Release Date: 28/02/11
SYNOPSIS:
A young couple's (David James Elliot and Heather Marsden) car breaks down in a small rural town in America's deep south. Seeking refuge for the night in a nearby rundown motel, they soon realise that the owner, Carter (Michael Madsen), runs the town... and the local gang of twisted, masked kidnappers, torturers, and killers.
REVIEW:
To be honest with you, despite having a couple of low budget stars (Jeff Fahey and Michael Madsen) this low budget, straight to Horror Channel DVD was sadly lacking. The plot was something that’s been done time and again in better ways (there are touches of Vacancy and Hostel to name but two) with more believability and better acting. The wife was there as the typical screaming female, the husband “manned up” in a blink and you’ll miss it shot and overall the plot wasn’t that well thought out. Add to this some disjointed sequences, some bad editing alongside a lot of missed opportunities (where weaponry could have been grabbed by the couple who choose to ignore it as they run by) and the viewer could really be left wondering why it was made.
Whilst this is watchable if you’re not expecting much I’d really advise you to save your money and wait for it to appear on the TV as otherwise you may well feel a little cheated.
